MACOMB, Ill.
- The Lewis University men's tennis team completed their first fall tournament of the season on Saturday (Sept. 10) afternoon, competing in doubles play at the 7th Annual Art Peterson Invitational, hosted by Western Illinois University at the Brophy Tennis Courts. 

In doubles bracket #1, Lewis senior Uno Lapimaa (Tallinn, Estonia, Audentese) and junior Brandon Tilton (Chicago Heights, Ill., Marian Catholic) took second place. The duo defeated Truman State's Kirk Schleuter and Mike Merchant, 8-3 in the quarterfinals and Wisconsin-Whitewater's Byron Balkin and Mitch Osbourne, 8-5 in the semifinals before falling in the final match.

Bracket #2 featured Lewis' Jesse Hardacre (Racine, Wis., St. Catherine's) and John Richert (Indianapolis, Ind., Pike), who placed third. The combo earned an 8-4 victory in the quarterfinal round over Missouri-St. Louis' Nils Corrales and Felipe Naranjo and won the third place match with an 8-5 decision over Western Illinois' Gino Octa and Ben Yue.

Senior Matt Heidenfelder (Arlington Heights, Ill., Buffalo Grove, Harper College) and brother junior Nick Heidenfelder (Arlington Heights, Ill., Buffalo Grove) won the back draw in doubles bracket #3 with a win over Olivet Nazarene's Peter Jensen and Josue Sanchez, 8-3.

The Flyers return to action on Friday (Sept. 16) as they participate in the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Ill.
