Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head softball coach Becky Pearl has announced on Friday (September 1) that she has hired Coralee Ramirez as an assistant coach.

Ramirez spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Cincinnati Christian, beginning with the program's inception in 2016. The Eagles improved from 10 victories in 2016 to 22 wins last season.

"We are excited to bring Coralee on staff," Pearl said. "Her knowledge and experience both as a player and a coach will prove to be a big asset for our team in the years to come."

Prior to her arrival in Ohio, Ramirez spent a season as a volunteer coach at her alma mater, Texas State. While in San Marcos, she played for and coached with Texas State head coach Ricci Woodward and coached alongside Olympians Cat Osterman and Kelly Kretschman.

Ramirez was a four-year letterwinner for Texas State (2011-14) who held a .322 batting average as a senior. A three-time Academic All-Conference selection, Ramirez was named as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete in 2014.
