The Lewis men's volleyball team in 1996 won the MIVA Tournament and Regular Season Championship after finishing with an overall 31-5 record and a 12-2 mark in the MIVA. The team made it to the NCAA Final Four in just the third year of the program's existence. The team finished the season with a final ranking of no.7 in the 1996 USA Today/AVCA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Coaches Poll. Along with the team's success there were several individuals that received accolades. Victor Rivera and Chris Borden were named ALL-MIVA First Team, Doug McBride and Mike Presek were named All-MIVA Second Team. Chris Borden was also named an AVCA/NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball All-American First Team.
