Romeoville, Ill. - The College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Friday (May 17) that Lewis University junior women's tennis player
Zsofia Lanstiak (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Women's At-Large Team for the second-straight year.
Lanstiak, a Academic All-America Third Team selection in 2012, owns a 3.75 cumulative grade point average in psychology, following the Fall '12 semester. She is now eligible for Academic All-America status.
On the court, Lanstiak dominated her opponents as she combined for a record of 53-3 in both singles and doubles play on her way to Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year honors for the second-straight season. In singles action, Lanstiak went 27-1, including a 23-match winning streak to end the season, on her way to being ranked No. 16 in the nation (as of May 1).
Lanstiak was equally as productive in doubles play, as she and fellow Hungarian
Zsofia Kranczicki (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) went a combined 26-2 against their opponents. Their only losses came against the No. 1 team in the country. Lanstiak and Kranczicki ended the 2012-13 season with a 16-match winning streak and were ranked No. 4 in the country (as of May 1).
