ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe announced that Lewis men's tennis player
Tatenda Mutetwa (Harare, Zimbabwe) has been selected to represent his home country of Zimbabwe in the 2024 Davis Cup World Cup II in Hong Kong from February 2-4.
"I'm extremely honored and excited to have been chosen to represent my nation at the highest level of International tennis," Mutetwa said. "I will be certain to give my best effort and enjoy every moment of it."
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis which is ran by the International Tennis Federation and has over 140 competing countries which the organizers describe as the "World Cup of Tennis" and refer to the winners as the world champions.
Mutetwa recorded eight wins in the No. 3 singles spot and five in the No. 2 doubles position for Lewis during his freshman season.
