BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Steve Turner equaled his season high of 17 points, including 13 in the second half, and Dustin Warfield scored a career-best 15 points, but Ferris State's 3-point shooting barrage sent Lewis to an 88-59 non-conference defeat Thursday night.

Led by Carlton Epps' 6-of-9 performance from beyond the arc, Ferris State (10-2) shot a torrid 53.8 percent (14 of 26) from 3-point range. Antwuan Holt was 3 of 4 from 3-point distance for the Bulldogs, who shot 55.9 percent (33 of 59) from the field overall.

Epps sank a 3-pointer on each of Ferris State's first two possessions to stake the Bulldogs to a 6-0 lead before a minute had elapsed. The margin grew to 15 points, 23-8, with 12:20 left in the first half.

Randy Wright (Thomasboro, Ill./Rantoul)'s 3-pointer triggered a 7-0 run that brought the Flyers (5-7) back to within striking distance, 23-15, at the 8:24 mark. But Ferris State scored on its next possession, re-establishing a double-digit lead for good and igniting a 21-9 spurt that gave the hosts a 44-24 halftime cushion.

Turner was 7 of 14 from the floor and added five rebounds, three assists and two steals to his 17 points. Warfield, whose 6-of-12 shooting effort included a pair of 3-pointers, tied for game-high rebounding honors with six boards.

DeAndre Williams registered six assists, the Flyer senior guard's 10th game this season with at least five helpers.

Epps led all scorers with 22 points and added four assists and three steals. Willie Burrel scored 18 points for Ferris State which, led by Dennis Springs' nine assists, recorded an assist on 28 of its 33 field goals.

Lewis returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference play next Thursday against Wisconsin-Parkside, a recent upset winner over Division I Illinois-Chicago. Game time at Neil Carey Arena is 7:30 p.m.
