Mike Dahm (Belleville, Ill./Belleville East) scored two goals and five other players tallied a goal apiece for the Lewis University men's soccer team Friday in the Flyers' 7-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference romp over Kentucky Wesleyan.
The Flyers, ranked No. 5 in the Central Region of NCAA Division II, improved to 7-4-2 overall and 6-1 in the GLVC with their fifth successive victory, while Kentucky Wesleyan fell to 1-11-1, 0-7-1.
Dahm opened the scoring at 29:38 with an assist from Tito Lara (Shorewood, Ill./Joliet Central). Goals by Alejandro Blinder (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Instituto French) (Justin Sanabria (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) assist) at 39:05, Gabe Leon (Des Plaines, Ill./Elk Grove) (Sebastian Falinski (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Conant)) at 41:16 and Sergio Lira (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) (Lara) at 44:21 gave Lewis a 4-0 halftime cushion.
Dahm's second goal was unassisted at 57:27. Nick Kowalski (Niles, Ill./Niles Notre Dame) (Blinder) and Mike Marchese (Huntley, Ill./Jacobs) (Michael Waters (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South), Brandon Peterson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South)) scored at 70:39 and 89:06, respectively, while Kentucky Wesleyan's Andy Donohoe netted his team's only goal (unassisted) at 75:25.
Lewis outshot KWC 29-3, including 12-3 in shots on goal, and earned a 14-1 margin in corner kicks.
