USC handed the Lewis University men's volleyball team a disappointing five-game loss in 2003, but the Flyers were able to deliver restitution in their first meeting since. Lewis (6-5) beat USC (2-10) 26-30, 22-30, 30-28, 30-20, 15-12 to avenge last season's defeat. The Flyers rattled off the final three points after a 12-all tie in game 5 to clinch the victory.
Middle blocker Enrique Escalante paved the way with a double double. The 6-6 sophomore recorded team-highs of 21 kills and 12 blocks. He also hit .667 (21k-3e-27a) for the match.
Jeff Soler added 15 kills and nine digs, while Fabiano Barreto posted 14 kills and seven blocks.
Setter Brandon Sisk handed out 53 assists and libero Ryan Stuntz recorded a team-high 12 digs.
The Flyers return to conference play this week when they travel to Clarke Feb. 10 and IPFW Feb. 14.
