FINDLAY, Ohio-Sophomore Amy Yusko drove in half of the Lewis softball team's runs in game 1 and Kristen Porzel threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in game 2 to lead Lewis to a doubleheader sweep of regional foe Findlay.

Lewis (12-6) topped the Oilers (3-11) 8-0 in five innings in the opener and followed with a 1-0 defeat in the nightcap. Yusko launched a two-out, three-run double over the center fielder's head in the first inning to help stage the game 1 blowout.

Yusko followed with an RBI triple that started a four-run rally in the fourth inning. Freshmen Beth Shelus and Kristy Vanek delivered an RBI single and double, respectively, while sophomore Robin Martz picked up an RBI on an error by the second baseman.

Senior Stacy Beaman scored the Flyers' final run when Crystal Bowen reached on an error in the fifth inning. Junior A.J. Lagerhausen (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the fifth to preserve Lewis' run-rule victory.

Carrie Paradzinski (6-3) earned the win with four scoreless innings of work. She struck out five and surrendered just two hits.

Porzel (3-0), a junior, claimed the win in game 2. She limited the Oilers to three hits and struck out two. The Flyers scored the lone run of the game on a two-out error in the top of the fourth inning. Amy Roberts reached on a fielder's choice and promptly stole second and third. Senior Stacy Davis rolled a grounder to shortstop that would have ended the inning, but Brandy Bower's throw sailed wide of first base and Roberts scored as a result.

Paradzinski picked up her third save of the season and the 13th of her career. She is now tied with Sarah Van Gorp for the most saves all-time in Lewis history.

This weekend Lewis opens play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a pair of road doubleheaders. The Flyers will face No. 16-ranked Northern Kentucky Saturday and Bellarmine Sunday.
