March 1, 2004

Box Score

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Senior pitcher Carrie Paradzinski was dominant in leading Lewis to a 3-0 shutout of nationally ranked Le Moyne at the Rebel Spring Games. Paradzinski (3-1) threw a complete-game two-hit shutout against the No. 5-ranked Dolphins. She struck out eight and walked none while continually keeping Le Moyne off balance. She surrendered just one solid hit, a single to left in the seventh inning, during the outing.

The Flyer offense came to life in the second inning as the team tallied all three runs in the frame. Sophomore Amy Yusko began the rally with a one-out walk. Senior Stacy Davis followed with a double over the center fielder's head that scored Yusko. Christina Willis reached on an error and quickly stole second to give the Flyers runners on second and third. Sophomore Robin Martz capped the rally with a two RBI single into center field, her second hit of the game.

Lewis (4-4) evened its record at .500 with a 7-1 victory over Great Lakes region foe Lake Superior State. The Flyers rapped out 12 hits, while five players-Amy Roberts (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba), Davis, Yusko, Willis and Josie Kramer (Marquette, Mich./Marquette)--had two hits each.

After three hard-luck losses, Mary Jaszczak (1-3) picked up her first win of the season against LSSU. She went five innings and gave up one run on two hits.

The Flyers return to action on their spring trip with games against Northwood and Rollins Tuesday, March 2.
