Final Stats

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--Battling for their postseason lives, the Lewis University women's soccer team played valiantly in an attempt to qualify for the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament for the first time since 1997.

However, an early goal proved to be enough for visiting Indianapolis (8-6, 6-5 GLVC) as the Greyhounds topped Lewis 1-0.

Indianapolis' Laura Marcon scored seven minutes and 25 seconds into the first half off an assist by Sarah Jones.

Lewis goalkeeper Lindsay Frederick stopped nine shots and increased her season saves total to 146. She needs 13 saves in the team's final two games to set the school's single-season record.

The loss drops Lewis to 5-11-2 overall and 2-7-2 in the GLVC. It also officially eliminates the Flyers from contention for the eighth and final spot in the GLVC Tournament.
