Box Score

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Mary Moskal and Shante Glenn each posted a double-double and were two of three Flyers to reach the 20-point mark as Lewis defeated Ferris State 95-85 at the Ferris State Holiday Classic Wednesday afternoon.

The win snapped the Flyers' two-game losing streak and improved their overall record to 6-5, while their 95 points were the most scored in regular-season play since a 105-point outing against St. Xavier on December 16, 2003.

Moskal led all scorers with 24 points, one shy of her season high, and she also grabbed 10 rebounds to register her second double-double of the season. Glenn also recorded her second double-double of the season, setting season highs with 20 points and 11 assists. Darcee Schmidt set a season high with 23 points, going 10-of-13 from the field.

The Flyers used an 8-0 run to grab the first big lead of the game, 16-7 at the 14:00 mark, but it wouldn't hold as the Bulldogs battled back with 13-3 run of their own to take a 28-27 edge with 3:43 left in the half. Ferris kept it going, hitting a total of nine 3-pointers in the half to lead 37-32 at intermission.

The Bulldogs' lead faded in the second half, as the Flyers turned it on from the field with a stellar 71.9 second-half shooting percentage. Ferris added eight more 3-pointers in the half to set a school record (17), but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the solid shooting of the Flyers. Lewis took the lead for good with 13:05 to play and withstood a couple of late charges by the Bulldogs before claiming the 10-point win.

Five Ferris State players scored in double figures, led by Erin Miller with 20 and Audrey Thwing with 17. Thwing collected a game-high 11 boards.

Lewis won the battle at the line, going 17-of-22, while Ferris was held to 4-of-5 at the stripe. The Flyers also out-rebounded the Bulldogs, 34-32.

This was the last game of the calendar year for the Flyers, as they don't return to action until January 5 when they host Missouri-St. Louis.
