Balanced Flyers Cruise Past Saint Francis

LORETTO, Pa. - Lewis used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Saint Francis (Pa.) 30-24, 30-22, 30-23 Friday night in men's volleyball non-conference action.

Jared Dayton had a team-high 11 kills and hit .450 for Lewis (9-9), which had 47 kills and just six attack errors in 91 attempts for a .451 team hitting efficiency.

Enrique Escalante compiled a .643 hitting mark (9-0-14) and added three blocks, and Jeff Soler had nine kills and eight digs. James Wilkes (6-0-8, .750), Matt Mueller (six kills) and Greg Pochopien (5-0-10, .500) also contributed to the Flyers' strong offensive outing.

Pochopien tallied a match-high five blocks and J.J. Castellano registered nine digs for Lewis, which improved to 5-1 all-time against the Red Flash of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. Brandon Sisk and Tom Mendoza distributed 27 and 14 assists, respectively.

Marc Honore (14-2-20, .600), Brandon Kelly (10 kills), Dave Paschel (eight kills, eight digs) and Zach Nanni (10 digs) led Saint Francis (7-8).
