Final Stats

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--The Lewis University women's soccer team kept conference opponent Rockhurst within striking distance for most of the game, but a pair of late goals allowed Rockhurst to top Lewis 3-0.

Rockhurst (4-1, 1-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference) scored early, taking a 1-0 lead on a Jennifer Whiteley goal at 7:18. Katy Vogt assisted on the strike.

Despite trailing early, Lewis (3-3-1, 0-1-1 GLVC) settled in and fired back with five shots in the first half, two of which were saved by Hawks goalkeeper Sara Ratzki.

Rockhurst controlled the tempo in the second half and outshot Lewis 17-0 in the period. The slew of shots kept Lewis goalkeeper Lindsay Frederick busy as she posted nine saves in the match.

The Hawks eventually broke through the Flyer defense with a Brittany Williams goal at 80:12. Sarah Anderson and Lindsay Ewert earned assists. Williams added an insurance goal with less than three minutes to play as she scored off a Cassie Langwith pass at 87:20 for the final margin.

Lewis' next game will be Thursday, Sept. 15 when it will host ninth-ranked Wisconsin-Parkside at 1 p.m.
