ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Stephanie Sagat posted a career-high 21 kills and Charisse Steckling hit a match-best .452 with 17 kills as the Lewis Flyers came from behind to defeat the Missouri-St. Louis Riverwomen 30-14, 21-30, 28-30, 30-21, 15-8 Friday night in a thrilling conference match at Neil Carey Arena.

The Flyers extended their winning streak to six matches, improving their record to 14-4 (8-1). Missouri-St. Louis dropped to 7-13 (4-5).

After winning the first game of the match with relative ease, the Flyers dropped the next two games and found themselves down 8-5 in game four before an 8-0 run turned things around.

Consecutive kills by Steckling and Theresa Nugent made the score 8-7, and then Andrea Morrone kept the rally going with an extraordinary play. Attempting to save an errant Flyers' pass, Morrone dove for the ball and was able to push it over the net and to an open spot on the other side. Following that point, the Flyers never trailed again in the match.

Sagat's 21 kills led all players, and she added 15 digs and three assisted blocks. Nugent had 17 kills with 14 digs, and Sara deBuhr came up with nine kills and six blocks, including three solo stops.

Morrone, the conference's top setter, established a career high with 60 assists. Current conference Player of the Week Lauren Hatter recorded 24 digs, giving her an even 500 for her career.

Christy Trame led the Riverwomen with 16 kills, despite not playing in the first game. Former Joliet Catholic standout Joslyn Brown had a team-best 20 digs.

The Flyers held a .270 to .167 advantage in hitting. Each team totaled 10 blocks in the match.

Lewis looks to make it seven in row when they host Quincy Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
