A Lewis turnover on the next possession gave the Chargers had a chance to tie or take the lead, but a turnover and a foul on the other end put Schmidt at the line. Schmidt made both freebies, igniting an 11-2 run by the Flyers, who again led by double digits with 8:38 to play.

After the Flyers opened the game with a 6-0 spurt, Hillsdale answered with a 9-0 run to take what would be their only lead of the game. Mooberry drained a 3-pointer at 13:57 to put Lewis up for good at 11-10.
