Ramblers Too Much For Flyers

CHICAGO - Drew Pickering led the Flyers with nine kills, but Lewis fell to No. 11 Loyola Chicago 3-0 (30-27, 30-14, 30-21), Tuesday night in a Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match.

The Flyers dropped to 5-7 (2-4 MIVA), while the Ramblers improved to 14-1 (6-1 MIVA).

Pickering, who also tallied two blocks and two digs, registered a team-best 10 points for the match. David Kelnhofer and Craig Boller each added five kills, and Nick Perakes totaled a team-best five digs.

Chris Kozlarek led the Ramblers with 12 kills, hitting .455 for the match. He also secured a match-high 10 digs and he notched three blocks. Joe Guntli posted seven kills and Nathan Gustus and Chris Nelson each chipped in with six.

The Ramblers out-hit the Flyers .369 to .065, including .500 to .042 in the second game, and they held the advantage in team blocks, 9-3.

The Flyers play again on March 1 when they host Carthage at 7 pm.
