SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Brandon Dagans enjoyed a perfect shooting day and scored 14 points in his first collegiate start, but hot-handed Drury dealt Lewis an 81-61 Great Lakes Valley Conference loss Saturday afternoon.

Drury, ranked No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll, improved to 14-6 overall and 9-4 in the GLVC with its fifth consecutive win. Lewis (10-11, 4-9) lost for a seventh time in succession.

Dagans was 5-of-5 from the floor, including two 3-pointers, and 2-of-2 at the foul line. Pat Monaghan came off the bench to lead the Flyers with 16 points that included an 8-of-8 effort at the foul line, and Stephan Bolt added 11 points.

Drury's Collins Harris, who was 9-of-12 from the floor, led all scorers with 21 points. Tim Brown was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and tallied 16 points, while Brandon Kimbrough and Steven Gum collected eight and five assists, respectively.

Lewis put up strong first-half numbers, shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) overall, 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from 3-point range and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) at the foul line.

Drury was dialed in as well, however, to the tune of 60 percent (15-of-25) overall and 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from 3-point distance in the opening stanza. Brown nailed all four of his treys, including a backbreaker with just three seconds left, and netted 14 points as Drury gradually pulled away and established a 43-31 halftime cushion.

Dagans' basket on the Flyers' opening second-half possession cut the deficit to 10. But Drury scored the next six points and maintained at least a 12-point lead the rest of the way, with Harris pouring in 16 of his 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting.

Dagans added three steals to his 14 points, and Branden Hunter had three assists and two steals. Bolt and Hunter tied for team rebounding honors with four apiece as the Flyers edged the Panthers 25-24 on the glass.

Lewis travels to Wisconsin-Parkside for an important GLVC contest Tuesday night.
