Junior Jorge De Jesus tallied a career-best five points and was one of six Flyers to record a goal, as Lewis thumped Kentucky Wesleyan 8-0, Friday afternoon in conference play.
The Flyers improved to 9-4 (5-4 GLVC), securing a much-needed win, while the Panthers fell to 3-10-1 (0-8 GLVC).
After sophomore Nestor Hernandez got Lewis on the board with an unassisted goal at 9:28, De Jesus scored the first of his two goals (unassisted) at 10:41, staking to the Flyers to a 2-0 lead.
Freshmen Mardoche Beya made it 3-0 Lewis, when knocked one in at 29:28 with an assist from Hernandez.
Senior Anthony Marsico put the Flyers up 5-0 at the half by registering a pair of goals. The first, an unassisted tally, came at 29:28, and the second occurred at 37:15 with an assist from senior Ryan Doody.
Sophomore Kipp Cartwright notched Lewis' sixth goal, with help from De Jesus, at 54:59. De Jesus added another to the scoreboard at 64:34. Sophomore Joey De Francesco recorded the assist.
Freshman Armin Vrebac added the final marker, the first goal of his collegiate career, at 80:18. Sophomore Tim Vance had the assist.
The Flyers scored eight goals for the first time since dropping Upper Iowa by the same score on August 29.
Juniors Anthony Szymel and Nick Veselka combined for the shutout in net.
The Panthers managed seven total shots with just two going on goal. Lewis had 24 shots.
The Flyers return to action on Sunday, facing Southern Indiana at 2:30 p.m.
