ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Flyers fell to Grand Valley State 54-37 in a non-conference game on Saturday evening.

The Flyers jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the first half but the Lakers rallied to take a 25-20 halftime advantage. Grand Valley State pulled away with a 10-5 run to start the second half.

Sophomore Lauresha Hawkins scored nine points on three 3-pointers.

Junior Lauren Martens scored six points and grabbed a team-high five offensive rebounds.

Junior Kelly Dianis notched seven points and added three assists.

Freshman Kelly Monaco added six points off the bench.

Crystal Zick recorded a game-high 18 points for the Lakers. Erin Cyplik grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Flyers struggled from the floor, finishing with a 24.5 field goal percentage.

Lewis fell to 1-2 while the Lakers improved to 2-2.

The Flyers play their first conference game on Thursday at Drury.
