Flyers Sweep Saint Francis For Fourth Straight Win

Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis Flyers swept the Saint Francis Lady Saints 3-0 (30-13, 30-17, 31-29) in front of a jam-packed Neil Carey Arena in the Flyers' home opener.

The Flyers held Saint Francis to a sub .200 hitting percentage every game and finished with a .441 to .158 advantage. Lewis improves to 4-1 while the Lady Saints fall to 2-3.

Sophomore Stephanie Sagat led the Flyers and tied for a match high with 10 kills. Senior Sylvia Ciezak added nine kills. Five Flyers registered five or more kills in a match where all 17 players saw action. Freshmen Lauren Seliga and Ashlee Lindish registered 10 digs. Lindish has registered 10 or more digs in all five Flyers matches. Freshman Rachel Ruedi saw time at setter, recording 16 assists. Senior Andrea Morrone record 27 assists.

Lisa Klein led Saint Francis in kills with 10. Courney Ambrosch recorded nine digs and Kelsey Polte tallied 22 assists.

The Lady Saints nearly rallied to win the third game knoting the match 29-29 after the Flyers held a seven point lead. The Flyers put the match away on a kill by sophomore Sara deBuhr.

The Flyers hit six service aces compared to the Lady Saints' five and led in blocks, 4.0 to 2.0.

The Flyers return to action Thursday night against St. Cloud State at Neil Carey Arena in the first game of the 2007 Flyers Festival. The Flyers face Winona State on Friday and Bryant on Saturday in the Flyer Festival. All three matches start at 7 p.m.
