OWENSBORO, Ky. - Junior Brandon Dagans led Lewis with 20 points, but the Kentucky Wesleyan's Jeff Fahnbulleh posted a game-high 29 points to lead the host Panthers to a 69-61 win, Thursday evening in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest.

The Flyers fell to 10-3 (3-2), while Kentucky Wesleyan improved to 12-2 (3-1).

Dagans hit three treys and went 7-for-8 at the free throw line to lead the Flyers in scoring. Junior Jason Genova scored 14 points, going 7-for-11 from the field. He also added eight boards. Senior Stephan Bolt totaled eight points and eight rebounds.

Freshman Dennis Thomas, Jr. had eight points and four assists. Junior Ryan Sharp registered six points after hitting 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Freshman Lonnine Lawrence contributed four points and three rebounds.

Fahnbulleh's big night came on 12-of-18 shooting. He also led all players with 13 rebounds and had three blocks. Rodney Edgerson (19 points) and T.J. Smith (17 points) also scored in double figures for the Panthers.

The Flyers and Panthers exchanged the lead four times in the first half. A 3-pointer by Dagans at 5:37 of the first followed shortly after by a free throw from senior Matthew Marino gave Lewis its largest lead of the game at four points.

Unfortunately for Lewis, Kentucky Wesleyan closed the half on a 7-2 run to take a five-point lead at the half, and was able to keep Lewis from taking another lead the rest of the game. Lewis got layups from Genova and Dagans to start the second half, but the Flyers could not get any closer.

Kentucky Weslyan's biggest lead of the game was nine points, but for most of the second half the Flyers were within a basket or two of the lead.

The Flyers look to rebound on Saturday when they face Southern Indiana at 3 pm.
