ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -
Junior David Kelnhofer had seven kills and freshman Brian Muesenfechter added five to help the Flyers cruise 3-0 (30-20, 30-14, 30-20) over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening at Neil Carey Arena.
Lewis jumped out to 13-4, 16-4 and 13-7 leads to sail to easy victories in all three games. The Flyers only trailed when MSOE scored the first point of the final game. The closest the Raiders came was 20-17 in game three. But the Flyers scored 10 of the next 13 points to put the match away.
The Flyers had 11 different players notch kills. Sophomore Nathan Klaas recorded four kills, four digs, three block assists and one ace. Sophomore Mike Iandolo had 16 assists, three digs and one ace in two games of work. Junior Alex Vigansky had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks. Muesenfechter had a team high three aces and two assisted blocks.
The Flyers out-hit (.404 to .043) and out-blocked MSOE (9 to 4.5). The Flyers improved to 3-2 while MSOE fell to 3-3. For the Raiders, Mike Mocchi had a match high eight kills.
