ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Junior Brandon Dagans led all players with 22 points and was one of five Flyers to reach double figures, as Lewis turned away Wisconsin-Parkside 88-75, Tuesday evening in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division Game at Neil Carey Arena.

The Flyers (17-5, 10-4) have won four straight games and remained the only GLVC team still unbeaten at home (10-0).

Dagans went 6-for-13 from the floor and 10-for-11 at the foul line. Junior Jason Genova added a 9-for-15 effort with two treys to total 21 points. Senior Stephan Bolt had 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Senior Dustin Warfield returned to the starting lineup and scored 11 points, hitting 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Freshman Dennis Thomas, Jr. scored 10 points, reaching double digits for an eighth straight game.

The Flyers led by just one at halftime before pulling away in the second. After falling behind by one point in the opening seconds of the second half, Genova drained a 3-pointer to put Lewis back in front. Genova's trey was the start of a 29-9 push by the Flyers, and by the midway point of the half, Lewis had built a 19-point lead, their largest advantage of the game.

The Flyers kept a double-digit cushion all the way until 1:20 to go, when the Rangers momentarily cut the Flyers' lead to nine. Dagans broke a full-court Rangers' press on the next possession with a long pass to Genova, who finished with the Flyers' third dunk of the game to put Lewis back into a double-digit lead for good.

Lewis shot 56 percent in the second half, while the Rangers hit just 37.8 percent after halftime. For the game, Lewis grabbed 41 rebounds to the Rangers' 23.

The Flyers return to action on Saturday, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan at 4 p.m. Lewis will be inducting former athletics director Paul Ruddy and former baseball and basketball player Jerry Pennie (Class of 1957) into the Athletics Hall of Fame prior to that start of the men's game. Lewis also plans to honor retired head baseball coach Irish O'Reilly with a special ceremony at halftime of the men's game.
