JOLIET, Ill. - The Lewis University women's tennis team concluded its season in a high note by blanking St. Francis 9-0, in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Erin Piechocinski shutout Beth Frey 6-0, 6-0, to improve to 7-9 for the season. Senior Melanie Sandberg ended her season on a two-match win streak, ending the season 8-7 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Laura Olson.

Junior Jordan Lynde finished with a 5-10 mark after dropping Corinne Lutz 6-1, 6-2, and junior Agata Wojciechowska improved to 3-3 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Vickie Strand.

Freshman Clare Kessler earned her fifth match win with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Carla Braun, and junior Michelle Wright closed out the season with five wins after a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Samantha Metcalf.

In doubles action, Piechocinski and Sandberg closed a successful 6-6 season with an 8-2 win over Olson and Frey. Wojciechowska and Lynde earned their first doubles win, an 8-0 shutout over Lutz and Braun, and Kessler and Wright also nabbed their first doubles win with an 8-6 victory over Kelly Pruett and Barbara Koziol.

The Flyers finished the season 2-14 (1-10).
