Indianapolis, Ind. - Lewis University senior forward Jason Genova (Chicago, Ill./St. Patrick/Saint Xavier) and freshman center Marty Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) each scored 21 points against Indianapolis, as the visiting Flyers snapped a five-game road losing streak with the 86-60 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the Greyhounds at Nicoson Hall on Saturday night.

Senior guard Brandon Dagans (Harvey, Ill./Thornton) chipped in 16 points in the victory for the Flyers.

"When we play together with the sense of urgency that's needed to win in the GLVC, we can be pretty good," Lewis University head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said.

It was a breakout performance for Strus, as he was 8-for-9 from the floor and posted 16 of his career-best 21 points in the second half.

"Marty Strus had a great second half," Trost said. "We're going to need our post players to take control and do that, because other teams are locking into (Genova and Dagans) defensively."

With the victory, Lewis improves to 11-7 overall and 5-4 in GLVC play, while the Greyhounds fall to 6-13 on the season and 1-9 in conference action.

For the game, Lewis shot 57.4% (31-for-54) from the field and 63.2% (12-for-19) from three-point range. Genova led the Flyers from long range, knocking down 5-for-8 of his three-point attempts.

UIndy seniors Keith Radcliff and Braxton Mills each scored 12 points to lead the Greyhounds in scoring, while Larry Woods added 10 points off the bench.

Lewis is back in action on Thursday night, as they host Northern Kentucky for an 8:07 p.m. tip-off. The game will be broadcast on Lakeshore Public Television, which can be viewed through both DirecTV and Dish Network on Channel 56, on cable channel 17 in most Northwest Indiana communities and on 17 and 21 in Chicago and its suburbs.

A Catholic University sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers nearly 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, accelerated degree completion options for working adults, various aviation programs and 22 graduate programs in nine fields.
