Springfield, Mo. - Drury, led by a game-high 20 points and five trifectas from senior guard Tim Brown, shot a blistering 55.6% from three-point range on their way to the 74-60 conference victory over the Lewis University men's basketball team in a rematch of the 2008 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship at Weiser Gym on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers knocked down 10-of-18 shots from long range, and shot 48.9% (23-for-47) from the field. Drury was equally as impressive on the defensive end, as they forced 21 Flyer turnovers, leading to 24 points in the victory.

Conversely, Lewis shot 41.7% (20-for-48) from the field and 30.0% (6-for-20) from beyond the three-point arc.

"We're just not playing very well lately," Lewis University head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "When you don't shoot the ball well it makes it awful difficult to win. On defense we're trying and giving a good effort, but offensively, we're just all out of sorts."

With the victory, Drury improves to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in GLVC play, while the Flyers drop their second-straight contest and move to 7-6 on the season and 1-3 in conference action.

Lewis guards Dennis Thomas (Milwaukee, Wis./Bradley Tech) and Brandon Dagans (Harvey, Ill./Thornton) each scored 15 points in the defeat.

Drury senior guard Adam White chipped in 14 points in the victory.

Brown kick-started the Drury offense in the first half as led the Panthers to a 29-13 first half lead with 12 points. The Flyers answered Drury with a 12-2 run to close out the opening stanza, cutting the Panthers' advantage to 31-25 at the half, but Lewis would come no closer.

Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 8) as the Flyers host Missouri S&T for a 7:45 p.m. tip-off at Neil Carey Arena.

A Catholic University sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers nearly 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, accelerated degree completion options for working adults, various aviation programs and 22 graduate programs in nine fields.
