SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A goal by sophomore Allison Schieffer (Channahon, Ill./Minooka) just 2:13 into the contest was all the Flyers needed to get by the Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars 1-0 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference road game on Sunday afternoon.

Schieffer's goal, her fourth of the season was assisted by freshman Fran Abate (Glenbrook, Ill./Glenbrook South). The helper by Abate was her team leading fourth of the season also.

Senior goalkeeper Megan George (Wauseon, Ohio/Wauseon) recorded three saves to notch her first shutout of the season.

Lewis held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal with only Abate recording more than one. The Flyers also held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Illinois-Springfield falls to 2-13 (0-13 GLVC). Lewis improves to 4-9-1 (3-8-1 GLVC). The Flyers host Quincy on Friday at noon.
