Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis senior guard Brandon Dagans (Harvey, Ill./Thornton) posted a game-high 29 points and six assists to propel the host Flyers to the 78-59 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Saint Joseph's at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday's game marked the fourth consecutive contest that Dagans has scored at least 20-points. The Harvey, Ill., native also knocked down a team-season best 12-for-12 from the free throw line, marking the fourth consecutive game that Dagans went to the line at least 10 times.

"We wanted to get Brandon going from the beginning," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "He's hard to guard and we wanted to capitalize on that. Today was a good inspired performance against a team that's competing to get into the GLVC Tournament."

With the victory, Lewis improves to 14-9 overall and 8-6 in GLVC play, while the visiting Pumas fall to 13-11 on the season and 6-9 in conference action.

Lewis freshman center Marty Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) was 9-for-11 from the field and finished with 18 points, while sophomore guard Dennis Thomas (Milwaukee, Wis./Bradley Tech) chipped in 10 points.

The Flyers, led by three trifectas from Dagans, shot 53.8% (7-for-13) from three-point land, while Saint Joseph's knocked down just 26.3% (5-for-19) of their long range attempts. For the fourth straight game, Lewis went to the free throw line 20 times and the Flyers made 19-of-24 (79.2%) of their attempts.

Saint Joseph's Austin Peebles and Jake Hassler led the Pumas with 10 points apiece.

Lewis returns to action on Thursday night, as the Flyers travel to Louisville to square off with Bellarmine for a 7:45 p.m. tip-off.
