Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University sophomore designated player Stephanie Harmon (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield South) went 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI to help lift the host Flyers to the 7-4 come-from-behind Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Indianapolis in Game Two of their home opener at the Lewis University Softball Field on Saturday afternoon.

"Harmon had a monster day no question," Lewis head softball coach George DiMatteo said. "She bats fourth for a reason and that's because she's a tremendous hitter. Those homers came at a time when we absolutely needed it."

In the opener, the Greyhounds connected for two home runs, including the game-winning two run shot from sophomore second baseman Jamie Keltz to claim the 4-2 win over Lewis.

With the split, Lewis moves to 20-9 on the campaign and 4-2 in GLVC play, while the visiting Greyhounds are 12-10 overall and 4-2 in conference action.

In the nightcap, the Flyers found themselves trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lewis senior shortstop Kelly Dianis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) drew a leadoff walk and was quickly plated with a game-tying bomb from Harmon, her second of the day, to even the score at 4-apiece.

Harmon's second homer of the day was not enough, as the Joliet, Ill., native put the Flyers ahead in the following frame with a RBI single off of losing pitcher Meagan Gutierrez (4-3). The Flyers would add two more insurance runs as Gutierrez and relief pitcher Amanda Wendlinger each issued bases loaded walks.

Lewis relief pitcher Diana Pickrum (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) remains undefeated this season, as she tossed 3.1 innings of scoreless relief while fanning four batters to earn her fifth victory of the season.

The opener featured a battle between Lewis pitcher Courtney Lyons (San Pedro, Calif./San Pedro) and UIndy hurler Megan Russell, both in the circle and at the dish.

Russell put the Greyhounds ahead early with a solo homer off of Lyons in the first inning and added a RBI single in the fifth inning to extend UIndy's lead to 2-0.

The Flyers answered in the bottom of the fifth, as senior right fielder Lisa Gartland (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba) poked a two-run, game-tying homer off of Russell to even the score at 2-apiece.

Indy took the lead for good in the seventh inning, as Keltz launched a two-out, two-run homer to help the Greyhounds secure the 4-2 victory.

Russell improved to 5-4 with the victory, allowing two runs and five hits while striking out six batters. Lyons (5-5) was tagged with the complete-game loss, allowing four runs and five hits, while striking out seven batters. She led the Flyers offensively with a pair of hits on the afternoon.

The Flyers are back in action on Sunday (March 22), as they host Saint Joseph's for a GLVC doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
