Westwood, Kan. - The Lewis University women's tennis team was unable to overcome host Rockhurst, as the Hawks claimed the 5-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the Flyers at the Woodside Tennis Club on Friday morning.
"We were not up to the challenge today," Lewis head women's tennis coach Brett Bridel said. "At times, we showed some improvement in our doubles play, which will be the key to the remainder of our season."
With the win, Rockhurst improves to 11-9 on the season and 6-2 in GLVC action, while the visiting Flyers fall to 8-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Lewis returns to the court on Saturday morning, as they travel to Springfield, Mo., to square off with Drury for a 10 a.m. first serve.
