Romeoville, Ill. - The top of the Lewis University men's tennis team lineup continues to impress as freshmen Uno Lapimaa (Talinn, Estonia/Tallina Audentese Erakooli) and Tonis Irdoja (Rocca Al Mare) combined for three victories against Bellarmine on Friday afternoon.
Unfortunately for the Flyers, the Knights won the rest of the matches on their way to the 6-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference Victory at the Lewis Tennis Courts.
With the victory, Bellarmine improves to 4-7 overall and 2-2 in GLVC action, while the Flyers drop to 1-12 on the campaign and 0-4 in conference play.
Lapimaa claimed the 6-2, 6-0 win over Nathan Matthews at No. 1 singles, while Irdoja earned the 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Nic Janssen-Bernard at No. 2. Lapimaa and Irdoja would team up at No. 1 doubles for the 9-7 win over Matthews and Janssen-Bernard.
The Flyers are back in action on Saturday (April 4) as they host St. Francis (Ill.) for a 2 p.m. first serve.
