Rolla, Mo. - Missouri S&T's Nicolas Solano headed in a corner kick from Sam Shaffer with six minutes left in the first half to help the host Miners to the 1-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Lewis at Missouri S&T Soccer Field on Friday evening.
The loss marks the third straight game that the Flyers have been shutout, a feat not accomplished since the 2005 campaign.
"We got beat on a corner kick for the second game in a row," Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles said. "We're just not a very good team right now."
