INDIANAPOLIS - The Lewis women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Indianapolis on Friday evening.

Following a scoreless first half, Indianapolis' Morgan Binder scored at the 70:02 mark. The goal was set up by an Indianapolis free kick.

Indianapolis extended their lead two minutes later. Nicole Duncan of the Greyhounds scored, with Jennifer Rowe on the assist.

The Flyers held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks while Indianapolis held a 10-5 advantage in shots.

"We needed someone to rise to the occasion and say `I'm going to put the team on my shoulders and put one in the net,'" head coach Chris Koenig said. "That's what we were missing tonight."

Junior Samantha Sharp (South Beloit/Boylan) had a shot on goal for the Flyers.

Indianapolis improves to 2-6-1 (2-4-1 GLVC) while Lewis drops to 4-5-0 (4-4-0). The Flyers are at Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
