Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University junior forward Aloiso Barros (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pampulha/Marshalltown C.C.) was one of five different players to score on Sunday (Oct. 10) afternoon, as the Brazilian native found the back of the net twice in a 6-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Saint Joseph's at the Lewis Soccer Field.

The Flyers also received goals from seniors Mardoche Beya (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton), Armin Vrebac (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem), Jose Ibarra (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) and freshman Bryan Powers (Lake St. Louis, Mo./St. Dominic) in the win.

With the victory, Lewis improves to 9-3 overall and 9-2 in GLVC action, while the visiting Pumas drop to 7-4-1 on the season and 4-4-1 in conference play.

Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles was able to clear his bench in the victory and get his reserves some valuable experience.

"We did some good things out there today, but there's definitely things we can improve on," Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles said. "It was good to get everyone involved (today), but we need to set the tone in every match going forward."

Lewis peppered Puma goalkeepers Alex Makin and Mike Korman with a season-high 16 shots-on-goal. Lewis keepers Sebastian Kieruzal (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) and Alec Pickett (Mokena, Ill./Providence) combined for the shutout with two saves on the afternoon.

The Flyers return to action on Friday (Oct. 15) as they welcome UIS to the Lewis Soccer Field for a 12 p.m. first kick.
