ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - No. 11 Lewis women's volleyball won their 40th consecutive regular season home match thanks to a 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15) decision over Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon at Neil Carey Arena.

Three Flyers recorded double-digit kills. Sophomore Jen Krumwiede (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial/IPFW) had 11 with one error to hit .455. Senior Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) also added 11. Sophomore Carly Perschnick (Dwight, Ill./Dwight Township/Nova Southeastern) totaled 10.

Lewis out-blocked Bellarmine 13-to-5. The Flyers had just one block in the opening set, in which the Knights won. Junior Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) totaled six blocks (one solo) and seven kills.

Freshman Amy Choi (Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) totaled 18 digs for Lewis.

The Flyers never led in the opening set, however the match featured just two lead changes the rest of the way. The latest in which a set was still up for grabs was in the third when the score was tied at 14. Koeneman followed with a kill and Bellarmine asked for time. Krumwiede responded out of the break with a kill of her own. Lewis controlled the frame from there.

"We had a couple players not have the best game one but make a difference the rest of the way," head coach Lorelee Smith said. "That's always good to see."

The win is Lewis' 25th straight over Bellarmine.

Bellarmine falls to 8-8 (3-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference). Lewis improves to 15-2 (7-1 GLVC).

The Flyers will play in the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Matchups are to be determined following the weekend's results.
