ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis women's basketball team connected on a season-best 12 three-pointers to drop fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference North Division member Illinois-Springfield 94-66 Thursday evening at Neil Carey Arena.

Freshman Labrenthia Murdock (Round Lake, Ill./Round Lake) scored a career and game-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting for the evening.

"Labrenthia took good shots," head coach Lisa Carlsen. "She did a good job of driving the lane and kicking it out to her teammates."

Junior Jenny Turpel (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) moved into eighth place on Lewis' all-time scoring list with 15 points in the game. Turpel's 1,283 career points passed Shante Glenn's 1,273 career points from 2002-2006. Turpel also added 10 boards on the night for her GLVC-leading tenth double-double on the year.

"There's some things that Jenny does and it is really pretty basketball," Carlsen added.

It was all Lewis in the first half scoring a season-best 53 points for the half. Murdock had 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting including three trifectas in the opening half. Senior Kelly Dianis (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) and junior Kelly Monaco (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) each connected on a pair of three-pointers as the Flyers hit eight in the frame.

For the game, the Flyers were paced by five players who finished in double-figures. In addition to Murdock (22), Turpel (15), Monaco finished with 14 and Dianis and sophomore Devon Carbaugh (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) each had 11.

Erin Glogovsky led the Prairie Stars with 17 points.

Lewis held a 47-35 edge in rebounds and scored 32 points off 20 Prairie Stars turnovers.

The Flyers have won 12 consecutive GLVC home games dating back to last season, including a perfect 8-0 mark this year.

Lewis improves to 15-11 (11-6 GLVC) on the year while Illinois-Springfield drops to 3-23 (0-17 GLVC).

The Flyers are back in action on Saturday for Senior Day as they welcome Quincy to Neil Carey Arena for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
