Southern Indiana Snaps Men's Tennis Winning Streak At Six Matches, 8-1

Evansville, Ind. - The Lewis University men's tennis team's six-match winning streak came to an end on Friday (Apr. 9) afternoon, as No. 40 Southern Indiana claimed the 8-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the visiting Flyers to clinch the GLVC East Division title.

With the win, Southern Indiana, who is ranked No. 3 in the Midwest Region, moves to 16-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play, while the Flyers fall to 11-5 on the season and 2-1 in GLVC action.

Lewis sophomore Uno Lapimaa (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese) provided the lone highlight for the Flyers as he pushed his singles-winning streak to 18 matches with the 7-5, 6-2 victory over USI's Diego Gimenez at No. 1 singles.

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Apr. 10) afternoon, as they take on Brescia in a 10 AM non-conference contest in Owensboro, Kentucky.
