Men's Soccer: Missouri S&T 2, Lewis 1 in PDF Format 
Romeoville, Ill. - Missouri S&T sophomore forward Peter Haw posted a goal and an assist to lift the visiting Miners to the 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference road victory over the Lewis University men's soccer team at the Lewis Soccer Field on Sunday (Sept. 12) afternoon.
Haw opened up the scoring in the 30th minute, as he was fouled inside the box and converted the subsequent penalty kick off of Lewis goalkeeper Sebastian Kieruzal (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates).
Missouri S&T put another score on the board 75 seconds later as sophomore midfielder Kyle Schraier converted a Haw rebound to extend the Miners' advantage to 2-0.
With the victory, Missouri S&T improves to 1-0-2 on the season and in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Lewis senior midfielder Jose Ibarra (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) posted his first goal of the season in the 68th minute. Seniors Armin Vrebac (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) and Mardoche Beya (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) each notched assists on the play.
Miner goalkeeper Donny Gesell made eight saves between the pipes to earn the win for Missouri S&T, while Kieruzal made five saves for the Flyers.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 17), as the Flyers head to Evansville, Ind., to square off with Southern Indiana for a 5 p.m. first kick.
