Lewis trailed 20-14 before finishing on an 11-3 run to take the set. It was 23-20 when the Flyers scored the final five points. A block by sophomore transfers Carly Perschnick (Dwight, Ill./Dwight Township/Nova Southeastern) and Jen Krumwiede (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial/IPFW) tied the score at 23. A kill by senior setter Rachel Ruedi (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet Seymour) gave Lewis a 24-23 advantage. Seliga wasted no time ending the set by hammering home a kill for the win.
"When push came to shove we started playing smarter and that is why we came back," head coach Lorelee Smith said of the second set rally.
The Flyers dropped the third set only to come back and take the fourth. Lewis led 4-1 only to see UC-Colorado Springs score seven consecutive points in the fourth. "We had a lot of options tonight," Smith said. "We had five hitters we could go to."
