Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's soccer team, led by a pair of scores from junior forward Aloiso Barros (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pampulha/Marshaltown C.C.), dominated Kentucky Wesleyan from start-to-finish en route to the 4-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference triumph over the Panthers at the Lewis Soccer Field on Sunday (Sept. 26) afternoon.

The win marks Lewis' fourth-straight victory and the Flyers improve to 5-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 2-7 on the campaign and remains winless in GLVC action at 0-7.

"We've been taking care of and getting more comfortable with the ball (during the winning streak)," Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles said. "If we can continue to do that and possess the ball more, it'll give us a chance because the conference is wide open.

"We just have to keep on winning."

Lewis peppered KWC goalkeepers Ryan Samuels and Stephen Smith all afternoon long, as the Flyers uncorked a season-high 31 shots. 14 of which were on goal. Flyer keeper Sebastian Kieruzal (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) posted his 13th career shutout, as Kentucky Wesleyan managed just three shots, none of which were on frame.

The Panther keepers made some spectacular saves throughout the afternoon, but the KWC netminders were unable to corral a few loose balls, as the Flyers scored three of their goals off rebounded shots.

Barros scored both of his goals in the second half off rebounds from Jacob Karasiewicz (Belding, Mich./Lowell) and Armin Vrebac (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem). Vrebac also added a second half tally, while junior forward Robens Decius (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Glades/East Central) put the Flyers on the board in the 30th minute of the contest. Karasiewicz had two assists on the afternoon.

Lewis returns to action on Friday (Oct. 1) as the Flyers head to Indiana to square off with Indianapolis for a 7:30 PM showdown.
