ROMEOVILLE, Ill.
- In a battle for sixth place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings, the Lewis women's soccer team's comeback came up just short, dropping a 2-1 match to visiting Rockhurst on Friday evening at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Complex.

Rockhurst's Taylor Skala notched her 10th goal of the season at 17:42 on a breakaway off a Flyer turnover. The Hawks' Katie Kujawa added the second goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Skala.

Freshman Daniella DiGioia (Roselle, Ill., Lake Park) narrowed the deficit to just one at 85:45 for her second goal of the season. Sophomore goaltender Arianna Nie (Mokena, Ill., Lincoln-Way East) totaled five saves on the night.

With the win, Rockhurst improves to 9-3-1 (7-3-1 GLVC). Lewis falls to 5-6-1 (5-5-1 GLVC). The Flyers return to action on Sunday with a noon match against William Jewell.
