Springfield, Mo. -
Lewis University senior Aloisio Barros (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pampulha) (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Pampulha/Marshaltown C.C.) scored two first half goals within 150 seconds of each other to help the visiting Flyers to the 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Drury at Harrison Stadium on Sunday (Oct. 23) afternoon.

Barros made the most of his chances on Sunday, as his goals accounted for two of the Flyers' three shots on frame against Panthers' goalkeeper Stephen Conner.

"We got the win and that's the important thing," Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles said. "We got a clean sheet on the road and that's our number one priority."

With the victory, Lewis improves to 8-7-1 overall and 8-5-1 in conference action, while the host Panthers drop to 10-7 on the season and 8-6 in GLVC play.

Barros posted his first score at the 20:35 mark to give the Flyers a 1-0 advantage. Flyer freshman George Thomson (Kilmarnock, Scotland/Reid Kerr College) (Kilmarnock, Scotland/Reid Kerr College) earned his team-best ninth assist of the season on the play.

A short time later, Barros would strike again, as he took a feed from Lewis freshman Dale Malcolm-Adams (London, England/Isleworth & Syon) (London, England/Isleworth & Syon) and converted it for his seventh goal of the season at the 23:01 mark.

Lewis' defense was equally as stingy as Drury's, as the Flyers only surrendered a pair of shots on frame, to push sophomore goalkeeper Alec Pickett (Mokena, Ill./Providence ) (Mokena, Ill./Providence) to his third shutout of the season.

Lewis returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 26) night, as they welcome UW-Parkside for 'Senior Night' and a 7:30 p.m. first kick.
