It is a match-up of two NCAA Tournament teams from last season when Kentucky Wesleyan (4-2, 1-0 GLVC) comes to Romeoville to face Lewis women's basketball (3-3, 1-0 GLVC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Neil Carey Arena.

HAS A RING TO IT - The 2010-11 GLVC Championship team will receive their championships rings during a ceremony on Saturday at halftime of the men's basketball game against Kentucky Wesleyan.

FOR OPENERS - Thanks to the Flyers' victory over Southern Indiana on Thursday Lewis has now won eight consecutive GLVC openers.

GOING FOR 2-0...AGAIN - Lewis head coach Lisa Carlsen has started GLVC play 2-0 in each of her first four seasons at Lewis. A win on Saturday would continue the streak.

TURNOVERS = WIN? - The Flyers defeated Southern Indiana on Thursday despite committing 28 turnovers, the most in a game since a 60-52 loss to Indianapolis on Dec. 11, 2004. The last time Lewis had 28 or more turnovers in a game and won was on Nov. 21, 2009 at Grand Valley State. The Flyers committed 32 turnovers against the Lakers but won 60-57.

PERFECT FROM BEYOND THE ARC - Lewis made all five of their second half 3-point attempts against Southern Indiana on Thursday. The last time Lewis made every 3-point attempt in a half was when the Flyers drained all five attempts in the first half against Butler on Nov. 21, 2004. Lewis dropped the game at Hinkle Fieldhouse 71-59.

YOUNG BY THE NUMBERS - Lewis' six freshmen have combined to play 536 minutes, or 42.8 percent of the available court time. The six have scored 177 points, or 41.45 percent of Lewis' 427 points.

BOARD MEETING - After being out-rebounded in their opening game at Ferris State, Lewis has won the rebounding battle in their last five games.

WAY TO DISH - Senior Madeline Kish (Oak Forest, Ill./Sandburg) had a career-high seven assists against BYU-Hawaii. On Thursday against Southern Indiana she totaled six against the Screaming Eagles. She leads the Flyers with 19 assists on the season.

CAREER-HIGHS - A pair of Flyers set career-highs in points against Southern Indiana on Thursday. Junior Sam Rinehart (Marion, Iowa/Marion) had a career-best 16 points while freshman Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic)'s 17 points were the best of her young career.

REINHART FROM THE FLOOR - Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) has shot .500 or better from the floor in four of her first five career contests. For the season Reinhart is shooting .510 (26-of-51).

REINHART IN THE SECOND HALF - Of Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic)'s 42 rebounds, 30 have come in the second half or overtime. She grabbed all seven of her rebounds against Southern Indiana on Thursday in the second half.

MEAD'S BLOCKS - Sophomore Lauren Mead (Wauconda, Ill./Wauconda) has recorded a block in each game this season.

TAKING IT AWAY - The Flyers recorded 20 steals against BYU-Hawaii on Nov. 24th. It was the first time Lewis earned 20 steals in a game since recording 20 at Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 20, 2005.

ADDING AN ALL-AMERICAN - The Flyers will be adding an All-American to their roster. Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan), a 6-2 right-side hitter for the Lewis women's volleyball team, will be joining the Flyers next week. She was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Third Team in late November following a stellar senior season with the Lewis women's volleyball team. She recorded a team-high 299 kills with 91 blocks for the Flyers in 2011 and helped Lewis to a 25-7 record. She joins the Lewis women's basketball team with junior eligibility.
