Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team begins regional play on Wednesday (Nov. 20) night, as the Flyers (1-0) welcome Ferris State (0-0) to Neil Carey Arena for a 7:30 PM tip-off.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis juniors Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) (24 points) and Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) (19 points) combined for 43 points to lift the Flyers to the 79-64 come-from-behind victory over Olivet Nazarene on November 11, 2013.

ALL TIME SERIES - Lewis holds an 10-4 advantage over the Bulldogs in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Lewis, led by a career-high 18 points from sophomore point guard Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton), held Ferris State to 33.3% (16-for-48) shooting from the floor on their way to the 60-47 win over the host Bulldogs on November 17, 2012.

REBOUNDING ADVANTAGE - Lewis is 40-8 (.833) during head men's basketball coach Scott Trost's tenure when they out-rebound their opponents by 10 or more.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING - A win against Ferris State would extend Lewis' home-winning streak to six games, dating back to a 78-56 loss to Bellarmine on February 14, 2013.

LESS IS MORE - Lewis is 8-3 when Jackson scores fewer than 10 points during his career.

WINNING WAYS - Lewis finished the 2012-13 campaign with 19 victories - which was the most by a Flyer squad since the 2007-08 edition that went 20-11.

CHARITY STRIPE - Lewis has converted 18-straight free throws, dating back to the first half of their win against Olivet Nazarene (Nov. 11).

PRESEASON ACCOLADES - Jackson has been selected to both the Sporting News and Division II Bulletin Preseason Honorable Mention All-America Men's Basketball Teams.

DON'T OVERLOOK LEWIS - For the third time since 2009, the Flyers earned a win over a Division I team, as Lewis handed Loyola an 82-70 defeat on November 2nd. Lewis had previously defeated UIC (2009) and DePaul (2010).

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE - Lewis has won their last 33 non-conference home contests, dating back to a 59-56 loss to Grand Valley State on November 26, 2005.

EXPERIENCED BUNCH - Lewis returns 11 letterwinners to the court and eight players that averaged at least 13 minutes-per-game in 2012-13.

A LOT OF FIREPOWER - The Flyers lost just one player from their 2012-13 squad and return 81.8% (1,645-of-2,010) of their scoring output and 89.1% (819-of-919) of their rebounding from last season.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - In their last four meetings, Lewis has held Ferris State to an average of 53.8 points-per-game.

TOUGH SLEDDING - Five of Lewis' nine losses in 2012-13 came against GLVC opponents that were all ranked in the top-15 of the final Division II National Association of Basketball Coaches poll, including National Champion, Drury.

POUNDING OFFENSIVE GLASS - Olivet Nazarene outrebounded Lewis, 16-5, on the offensive glass. The last time Lewis won a game while being outrebounded by 10+ offensive caroms came in a 63-59 win over No. 10 Southern Indiana on February 7, 2013. Lewis had seven offensive rebounds, while USI had 18.

SPREADING THE WEALTH - Lewis had four players grab at least five rebounds against Olivet Nazarene. That was the first time in nine games that a Flyer team accomplished that feat.
