Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team looks for its best start in 24 years, as the undefeated Flyers (5-0) head on the road to take on Cedarville (1-7) in a regional match-up at the Callan Athletic Center on Saturday (Dec. 7) afternoon. Tip-off is slated for 4:15 PM ET.
Live stats, audio and video streaming of Saturday's contest - provided by Cedarville - can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold a 1-0 advantage over Cedarville in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET - Freshman center Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) led five Lewis players in double-figures with a game-high 18 points, as the Flyers earned the 79-70 non-conference victory over Cedarville on November 30, 2012.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis junior forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) posted a double-double with game-highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds in the 74-64 win over St. Francis (Ill.) on Wednesday (Dec. 4) night.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING - Lewis has a 10-game winning streak against non-conference opponents, dating back their last meeting against Cedarville.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING (PART DEUX) - A win against Cedarville would be the best start by a Flyer squad since Lewis went 13-0 to begin the 1988-89 campaign.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING (PART TROIX) - Lewis has a five-game road winning streak, dating back to a 63-59 victory over No. 10 Southern Indiana on Feb. 7, 2013.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING (PART QUATRE) - With a win over Cedarville, the Flyers will have their first six-game winning streak since the 2003-04 campaign. That season, Lewis went 15 games without a loss.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES - Lewis junior guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) has been selected to both the Sporting News and Division II Bulletin Preseason Honorable Mention All-America Men's Basketball Teams.

TRIPLE THREAT - Jackson led the Flyers in points (22), rebounds (8) and assists (5) against Ferris State on November 20th. That is the fourth time in his career that he has accomplished that feat.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - Lewis point guard tandem of Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) and Gabe Williams (Chicago, Ill./Farragut) have a combined 27 assists and five turnovers in five games this season for a 5.4-to-1 assist to turnover ratio.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART DEUX) - As of December 1st, Lewis is ninth in the country, committing just nine turnovers-per-game. The Flyers have had three games this season with less than 10 turnovers.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK (PART TROIS) - Jarosz (20 assists, 3 turnovers) has a GLVC-best assist/turnover ratio of 6.7-to-1, as of December 5th.

1,000 CLUB - Jackson needs 65 points to become the 38th player in Lewis history to reach the 1,000-Point Club.

ON THE RADAR - Lewis received six votes in the most recent NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll released on Tuesday, December 3rd. The Flyers have not been nationally-ranked since they were 17th in the final poll of the 2003-04 campaign.

GETTING TO THE LINE - Lewis leads the GLVC and is eighth in the country in free throw shooting (80.6%) as of December 1st. If the Flyers continue at this pace, it would shatter the previous single-season, school-record of 77.3% (487-for-630) set in 1995-96.

SMOKIN' HOT - Lewis has won 13 of its last 15 contests dating back to the 2012-13 campaign. During that stretch, the Flyers have defeated three teams that were ranked in the NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Poll.

TEAM EFFORT - While Jackson will get much of the defensive attention from Flyer opposing teams, his fellow starters have been lethal from the field. Lewis, Jarosz, Nelson and Nick Valla (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist) are shooting a combined 62.9% (73-for-116) from the floor in five games this season.
