Romeoville, Ill. - Â The Lewis University women's basketball team hosts NAIA foe Purdue Calumet for the first time in program history on Saturday (Dec. 7) at Neil Carey Arena with tip-off set for 3 PM.

IN THE POLL - The Flyers fell out of the Dec. 3rd installment of the USA Today Sports Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll released by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The Flyers picked up 91 total votes while the No. 25-ranked team collected 102 votes. The next poll will be released on Tuesday (Dec. 10).

LAST TIME ON THE COURT - Lewis defeated area rival St. Francis (Ill.) 74-56 on Tuesday (Dec. 3) at Neil Carey Arena. Sophomore forward
Mariyah Brawner-Henley (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) picked up her fifth double-double of the season, tallying 20 points and 15 rebounds.

HOME SWEET HOME – Lewis is a perfect 3-0 at home to start this season and has a 14-game home winning streak going at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers won 11-straight contests at home after opening the 2012-13 home slate with an 84-77 loss to Central Missouri (Nov. 24).

LEADING THE GLVC – Brawner-Henley leads the GLVC in blocked shots (2.3 bpg) and rebounds (11.5 rpg) and is second in scoring (19.3 ppg).

SOPHOMORE SHINING BRIGHT – Brawner-Henley is the first Flyer to average a double-double since Julie Fruendt completed the 1983-84 season averaging 18.9 points and 10.1 rebounds.

AMONG THE NATION – Heading into this week's action, Brawner-Henley is one of 13 NCAA Division II women's basketball student-athletes in the nation to average a double-double. She is also third in the country with five double-doubles this season.

AMONG THE CONFERENCE - Lewis tops the GLVC in blocked shots, averaging 4.8 blocks-per-game and is second in assists, dishing out 18.7 assists-per-game.

SHARING THE ROCK - Guard
Nikki Nellen (New Berlin, Wis./Pius XI) leads the conference in assists, dishing out 5.7 assists-per-game while
Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) is third with a 4.8 assists-per-game average.

REINHART REWARDS - Junior forward
Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) picked up Preseason Honorable Mention accolades from Women's Division II Bulletin. She was named 2013 GLVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player averaging 14.0 points and 6.3 rebounds-per-game in the tournament last season.

PRESEASON POLL – The Flyers were selected as the preseason favorites to win the GLVC East Division title, picking up 11 first place votes in a poll of league coaches.
