NASHVILLE, Tenn. - No. 2 Lewis women's basketball shot a season-high 54.1 percent from the field in a 96-71 non-conference victory at Trevecca Nazarene on Monday (Dec. 15) evening.

Four Flyers finished in double-digits. Junior Mariyah Brawner-Henley (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) scored 21 points thanks to a 7-of-7 performance at the free throw line. Junior Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) pitched in 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block and a steal for good measure. Senior Alexus Grayer (Washington, Ill./Washington) hit 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to total 19 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Senior Kristin Itschner (Metamora, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) finished with 11 points.

The game saw 10 different Flyers record a point.

The Trojans' only lead of the game came at 5-4 early in the first half. Lewis held a double-digit lead for the majority of the contest with Lewis' largest lead coming in the second half at 28 points.

"Getting a lead and keeping it is easier said than done but we did that tonight," Lewis head coach Lisa Carlsen said. "Alexus came in and played really well in several areas to help us put the game away in the second half."

Trevecca shot just 32.4 percent from the floor and 7-of-31 from beyond the arc. The Lewis defense recorded nine blocks. Sophomore Alex Poole (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had a career-high four blocks. Grayer added three blocks.

Lewis improves to 9-0. Trevecca falls to 4-6. Lewis hosts Northern Michigan on Thursday in a 5:30 p.m. start at Neil Carey Arena.
