Romeoville, Ill. - The Maryville University men's basketball team, led by a game-high 24 points from senior guard Armon Provo, used a 17-5 run to open the second half and never looked back, as the Saints claimed the 73-62 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over No. 21 Lewis University at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Jan. 10) afternoon.
Provo went 7-for-15 from the field and drained five three-pointers, while adding a game-high six assists and five rebounds in the victory. He was responsible for 10 of Maryville's 17 points to open the second half, as the Saints built a game-high 15 point lead over the Flyers with 12:21 left in the game.
Maryville senior guard Trae Pemberton added 17 points, including three trifectas, while senior forward Josh Montague came off the bench to score 13 points and grab five rebounds. Saints' center Max Mischkulnig finished with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
With the win, Maryville improves to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 10-3 on the campaign and 2-2 in conference play.

Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) topped the Flyers with 15 points and a game-high seven rebounds, while both senior guard
Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) and sophomore guard
Capel Henshaw (Harrisburg, Ill./Harrisburg) each posted 12 points in the loss. Henshaw tied career-highs in both three-pointers (4) and rebounds (6).
For the game, Maryville shot 53.3% (24-for-45) from the field and 52.6% (10-for-19) from three-point range. The Flyers recorded season-lows offensively in points (62), field goals made (19) and field goal percentage (32.2%).

Scott Trost said. "We're struggling right now, but we have to stick together and find a way to break out of it."
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 15), as the Flyers host McKendree for a 7:30 PM tip-off at Neil Carey Arena.
