It contributed to seventh seeded Maryville taking a lead as large as seven in the first half following an 8-0 run. It gave Lewis a one-point lead however Maryville's Alex Hillyer made a layup with four seconds left in the half to put the Saints up 38-37 at the break.

"I think we did a better job in the second half of playing good solid defense and rebounding the basketball," Lewis had coach Lisa Carlsen said. "Then we didn't turn it over as much in that late stretch in the second half. It was the little things we did better as the game went on."

Lewis shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57) in the game while limiting Maryville to 36.4 percent (20-of-55) shooting.
